We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold personal data and have no plans to do so.

4. Cookies & Analytics

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it.

How we use cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our Site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated data about page views, session duration, and traffic sources. IP addresses are anonymized before processing.

Your cookie choices

When you first visit our Site, you'll see a cookie consent banner with two options:

  • Accept: Google Analytics cookies are enabled, helping us understand how our Site is used.
  • Decline: Only strictly necessary site functionality is used. No analytics cookies are set.

Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so you won't be asked again. You can reset your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for our site.

Strictly necessary storage

We use your browser's local storage (similar to cookies) to remember your cookie consent choice and to prevent showing popups you've already dismissed. These are essential to Site functionality and do not track you.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may set their own cookies:

  • Google Analytics — website analytics (subject to your consent)
  • Google Maps / Places API — address autocomplete on our qualification form
  • Netlify — website hosting and form processing

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them if you have questions about their data practices.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate our business (e.g., Netlify for form processing, Google for analytics). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you of any such change.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information.
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
  • Cookie preferences: Decline analytics cookies via our consent banner, or reset your choice by clearing local storage.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@openroadstays.com or use our contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our Site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are processed through Netlify's secure infrastructure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To submit a privacy request, email privacy@openroadstays.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Site and services are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice such as a banner on our Site or an email notification.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
